It is a festival that is celebrated on the eighth day of the dark (second, waning half) and half of the month of Shravan. According to popular mythology, Krishna, the 8th incarnation of Vishnu from the Dashavatar was born at midnight on this day. So, Today I am here with Janmashtami Special Recipe which is very famous and many of us have enjoyed in our childhood that is GopalKala. Gopakala is nothing but Kala is a mixture of food with milk, curd, fruits, butter, etc. It is a very easy-to-make and healthy recipe. We can have it as a breakfast or evening snack. History Of Gopalkala... ?
- According to history, it is said that the lord Krishna would graze cattle with his fellow cowherd friends. At lunchtime, Lord Krishna mixes all the food bought by his friend with his own and makes a Kala. The Kala is a mixture of food with milk, curd, and butter. Hence this day is celebrated as Gopalkala..
- It will be Krishna Janmashtami soon. It is a festival that is celebrated on the eighth day of the dark (second, waning half) and half of the month of Shravan. According to popular mythology, Krishna, the 8th incarnation of Vishnu from the Dashavatar was born at midnight on this day. It is believed that Krishna, who grew up as a cowherd, relished all forms of dairy products. The stories of his childhood abound with tales of his mischief, where he and his motley group of playmates would get hold of some milk, butter, or curd in any way they could.
Ingredients :
- 1/2 cup Thick Pohe / Flattened Rice
- 1/2 cup Dahi / Curd
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1/2 cup Murmure / Puffed Rice
- 1/2 cup Jowar Lahya / Puffed Jowar
- 1 tbsp Pomegranate
- 1 tbsp Finely Chopped Cucumber
- 1 tbsp Shredded Fresh Coconut
- Fresh Coriander Leaves
- 2 tsp Soaked Chana Dal
- 1 tsp Ghee
- 1/2 Cumin Seeds
- A pinch of Hing / Asafoetida
- 1 Finely Chopped Green chili
- 1/2 tsp Grated Ginger
Procedure Video...
Procedure :
- Take Pohe into a bowl and wash them really good with water 2-3 times. Keep them aside.
- Take Curd into a bowl, and add Salt and Sugar. Mix well.
- Add washed Pohe.
- Take Murmure and roast these a little or microwave for about 30 seconds. Add roasted Murmure.
- Take Puffed Jowar and microwave for about 30 seconds.
- Add Puffed Jowar, Pomegranate, Cucumber, and Coconut.
- Take Chana Dal, wash it really good and soak it in the Water for 4 hours.
- Drain excess water and add Chana Dal. You also can use roasted Chana Dal or Fried Chana Dal from farsan.
- Add Fresh Coriander Leaves and mix everything well together.
- For Tadka, heat up tadka pan.
- Add Ghee, Cumin Seeds, Hing, Green Chili, and Ginger.
- Mix well and add Tadka in Gopalkala.
- Mix well and Gopalkala is ready to serve😋👌..
- Garnish with some Pomegranate, Basil Leaves, and serve it first to Lord Krishna.🙏
How to Serve ?
- Serve the Gopakala to Lord Krishna and then to all.
