History of ढेमसे..?
- ढेमसे is also known as Indian Round Gourd/ Simply Round Gourd in English, Tinde Ki Sabji in Hindi and ढेमसे in Marathi. It is also commonly called Apple Gourd, Round Melon, Indian Squash and Indian Baby Pumpkin. ढेमसे ही उन्हाळ्यातील लोकप्रिय फळ भाजी आहे.या काळात बाजारात भाज्यांची आवक कमी असते तेव्हा निवडक भाज्या असतात त्यावेळी ग्राहकांच्या पसंतीची हि भाजी असते.
- Indian round gourd is commonly considered a vegetable, which is used in cooking a variety of staple Indian dishes such as kootu, curry, sabzi and dal. In Khandesh this can be made in many variations, it is really awesome and benificial vegetable...Some benifits like Round gourd, being low on calories and high in essential nutrients, Promotes Weight Loss, Promoting Heart Health, Detoxifies The Kidneys, etc...Tinda juice supports the routine tasks of kidneys and bladder, there are so many benifits...those who did not tried this recipe please try it once have it in your meal...
Ingredients :
- 250 gm Round Gourd/Dhemse
- 1 Cup Soaked Moong Dal
- 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tbsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/4 tbsp Asafoetida
- 1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
- 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
- 1 tbsp Homemade Garam Masala
- Salt as per taste
- Oil
- Water
Procedure Video...
Procedure :
- Firstly, wash the Round Gourd/Dhemse nicely and chopped into small pieces.
- Meanwhile Soaked the Moong Dal for 10 mins.
- Now Heat up the Oil in kadai, add Cumin and Mustard Seeds. Saute it well.
- Add Chopped Onions and saute it.
- Add Ginger Garlic Paste, saute it.
- Now add Chopped Round Gourd/Dhemse and mix well.
- Add Soaked Moong Dal and mix it well.
- Cover the lid and cook for 5 mins without adding water.
- After 5 mins, Mix it and add all the Spices Red Chili Powder, Turmeric Powder, Coriander Powder, Homemade Garam Masala, Asafoetida and Salt as per your taste. Mix the spices properly.
- Now add Water as per your quantity and mix it.
- Cover the lid and cook for another 10 mins.
- After 10 mins turn off the flame.
- Here Our Khandeshi Special ढेमसे ची भाजी is ready...😋
How to Serve ?
- Serve Hot with Chapati, Bhakri or Rice, Papad, Kairi...😋
