Hey Dosto, Welcome to ItsMahajan. Happy Makar Sankranti To All. Today I am here with Sankranti Special शेंगदाण्याचे लाडू. As already I made Tilache Ladoo check it out on my ItsMahajan Page. Peanut Jaggery Ladoo is a Traditional, Authentic Maharashtrian recipe, which is made especially on Makar Sankrant in everyone's house. As everybody likes this Ladoos because it's healthy for our body especially in Winter. Also, Peanuts are nutrient-dense nuts and so it's good to include them in your food. These Ladoo’s are popular in Maharashtrian cuisine and are generally made during the Festival season, but can also be made and served as snacks. In Fast/Upvas you can have these Ladoo's. History Of Peanut Ladoo...?

  • The Peanut, also known as the groundnut, goober (US), pindar (US) or monkey nut (UK), and taxonomically classified as Arachis hypogaea, is a legume crop grown mainly for its edible seeds. It is widely grown in the tropics and subtropics, being important to both small and large commercial producers...
  • Groundnuts are used for many diffrent recipes, as specially in Festivals, so Sankrant Special today we will make Peanut Ladoo's. Due to Peanut and Jageery, this Ladoo or Candy is healthy for human body during winter season. That's why this Ladoo/Candy exchange festival is in winter.
  • The sweet is a mixture of Peanuts and Jaggery. On Makar Sankranti eve, families serve their guests with Tilgul, Til Ladoo Peanut Ladoo while saying "Tilgul ghya, goad goad bola" which literally means "Take Tilgul and talk sweetly". In this way Hindu Festival is celebrated.

Ingredients of Recipe




INGREDIENTS :

  • 1¾ Cup Peanut
  • 1 Cup Gudh/Jaggery
  • 1 tbsp ghee / clarified butter
  • 1 tbsp Milk/Water
  • Pinch of Salt

METHOD :

  • Heat up a pan/kadai on medium heat.
  • Gavran Peanuts and roast on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes. Until the skin of Peanuts separate, otherwise use store brought roasted peanuts.
  • Do not roast the Peanuts on high heat. Remove it in a plate.
  • Now cool the Peanuts completely, and start to separate the skin of Peanuts by rubbing with the kitchen towl or by using hands and keep aside. If you want with cover then use the Peanuts with cover.
  • While doing this process if some Peanuts remain with cover, no problem use as it is, it's also tastes awesome. I like the Peanut Ladoo's with it's cover.
  • Now in a large Kadai heat 1 tbsp Ghee and add 1 Cup Jaggery.
  • Keep stirring on low flame, until the Jaggery dissolves completely. You can also use Jaggery Powder
  • Boil for a minute or until the syrup turns frothy.
  • Do not over boil the syrup, also one string of jaggery syrup is not required. If you think syrub is burning or sticking to the kadai, then add milk/water and mix well.
  • Keep the flame on low and add our Roasted Peanuts. You can also add Sesame Seeds or Cardamom Powder, but here we are making pure Peanut Ladoo's so, I not added anything. Also, In Fast we can have this Ladoo's.
  • Mix well until the mixture is combined well. Cook for 2-3 mins and turn off the flame.
  • Here our Mixture is ready, transfer the Ladoo mixture into a plate/bowl and cool slightly.
  • Now start making Ladoo (greased hand with ghee or water) when the mixture is still hot/warm, as it hardens once cooled. By using spoon also you can make Ladoo's.
  • Finally, here our all शेंगदाण्याचे लाडू/Peanuts Ladoo's are ready...😋
  • Enjoy Shenga Unde/Peanut Ladoo recipe for a month when stored in airtight container.
  • Tips: If you want to use chikkicha gudh then use 1/4 cup chikkicha gudh and 1/4 cup regular gudh. You also can use 1/2 cup chikkicha gudh.
  • Milk gives nice binding to ladoo. If you are using regular gudh then milk helps in binding the ladoo.
  • You can use Regular any Peanuts instead of Gavran Peanuts, but Gavran Peanuts is best for making ladoos.
