Hey Friends, Welcome To Its Mahajan. Today I am here with a very simple and delicious traditional recipe Sheera. Sheera is everyone's favorite but sometimes we think it is very difficult to make. So, Friends don't worry I am here for you. This simple sheera we can make as a Prasad or anytime we want in very few ingredients which are available in everyone's kitchen. History Of Sheera...?

  • According to Wikipedia, Suji ka Halwa is a type of Halvah made by toasting common-wheat semolina (called farina in the US, and सूजी, suji, sooji or रवा, Rawa in India) in fat like ghee or oil, and adding a sweetener like sugar syrup or honey. It can be served for breakfast or as a dessert item. The basic recipe is made with just semolina (farina), sugar or honey, ghee, and sometimes milk. Variations on this include dried or fresh fruits, nuts, shredded coconut, and other toppings.
  • This Sheera recipe is very famous in Maharashtra, people like it and enjoy it. There are many types of Sheera and today we will see how to make simple basic Sheera.

INGREDIENTS :

  • 1/2 cup Semolina/Rawa
  • 1/2 cup Ghee
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 11/2 cup Milk or Water
  • Dry Fruits
  • Cardamom Powder

METHOD :

  • Allow to heat milk on low flame on one side.
  • Meantime heat the pan/kadai on other side, add Semolina (Suji) in it and saute Suji till turns light pink in color on low flame.
  • When Suji get’s properly roasted, remove in a plate and keep aside.
  • Now in the same kadai, heat up the ghee and add dry fruits and raisins and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Then add roasted Suji/Rava and mix well.
  • Add hot Milk gradually in it and keep mixing to avoid lumps.
  • Cover it with lid and allow to cook for 3-4 minutes on medium flame.
  • Now add Sugar and mix well till sugar get’s melt.
  • Add nutmeg powder(Optional) and Cardamom Powder and mix well.
  • Allow to cook it uncovered for 10 minutes on low flame.
  • Meantime keep turning.
  • When mixture get's thicken Sheera is ready.Turn off the flame.
  • Here our Delicious and Soft Sheera is ready...😋



How to Serve ?

  • Serve it in a bowl and garnish with Holy Basil (Tulsi) leaf on it.😋
  • Sheera/Prasad is very simple to make...just equal proportions are important...
