This recipe is related to some childhood memories, it's really very healthy that is Black Strap Molasses in English and Kakvi in Marathi. Only 1 tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses can provide 8 percent of the daily value for calcium and 10 percent for Magnesium. Also, it prevents the diseases like osteoporosis and asthma along with others that can affect your blood and heart...Kakvi has many benefits so, it's good for health. History of Kakvi..?

  • Kakvi is semi-liquid and is also known as Sugarcane Juice concentrate, Liquid Jaggery or Blackstrap Molasses. In Marathi it is popular with the name of Kakavi, in Kannada with Kakavi and in Gujarati with Golnupa...
  • Kakvi is used in various confectionery items. Cold drinks are also prepared to mix with water in different proportion and adding different essences. Kavi has many benifiits like Helps in blood purification, It controls the acidity as well as creates energy in the human body, It increases Hemoglobin level in blood, and many more...it's really good for health. Ingredients of Recipe




Ingredients :

  • 1 lit Fresh Sugarcane Juice
  • (No Lemon, No Ice, No Salt)

Procedure :

  • Take Fresh Sugarcane Juice/Syrup in heated sauce pan.
  • Cook the juice on low flame. Keep stirring continuously.
  • Let the juice boil for half an hour. Keep stirring.
  • Once color will get darker and consistency will be thicker then turn off the flame.
  • Here our Kakvi is ready. Let it cool.
  • Now pour it in a bowl or jar.
  • You can store the Kakvi for longer time.
  • Our Kakvi/Black Strap Molasses is ready...






How to Serve ?

  • Serve with chapati or you can use it any sweet dish.
  • Kakvi is really good for our health, also you can use this Kakvi in many ways like Summer Drinks, Sweets, Syrup or you can eat it as it is.
  • Try it once, it is very easy to make no other ingredients are required only in one ingredient you can have your healthy drink, Molasses at home.
