Singhar Mithai/Sev Burfi is an authentic Sindhi Sweet, It is super delicious and mouth-watering sweets. If you want best result for this Burfi then use only Homemade Unsalted Sev or you go with outside Sev. If you have never heard or tried then please watch the video and follow the steps. History Of Singhar Ji Mithai...?
- Singhar in Sindhi means 'Sev'. Sev Ki Burfi or Singhar Ji Mithai is one of the most loved Sindhi recipes. It is a traditional sweet which is very simple and easy to make. You also make it by using very simple ingredient. The Sev is made by using chickpea flour or you can aslo use outside sev... Sev is generally eaten as a teatime snack...Sindhi Cuisine is delightful, and those who have had a taste of it will know that there is a great deal of flavour and spice in this cuisine. On any occasion you can make Ssev Burfi at home and ejoy with family...Recipe is very easy and intresting,all family membersnwill love it...
INGREDIENTS :
- 2 Cups Chickpea Flour(Besan)
- 1 Cup Roasted Mawa
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 500 ml Full Cream Milk
- ¼ Cup Ghee
- 1 Pinch Yellow Food Colour(Optional)
- ¼ Cup Dry Fruits
- 7-8 Green Cardamoms
- Pinch of Salt(optional)
- Oil For Frying

METHOD :
- Take 2 cups of Chickpea Flour and add 2 tbsp of Ghee to it.
- Prepare a soft dough by adding some water. Knead the dough enough to ensure there are no lumps in it. Don't add too much water at a time, add gradually.
- Set the dough aside for 10 mins.
- Here the dough has rested for 10 minutes.
- Now preheat the Oil to prepare Sev. Take a Sev maker and attach the plate with fine holes in it.
- Slowly press the machine and spread the Sev around the edges of the wok for frying.
- Turn the Sev when foam reduces and fry them until they are light brown in colour.
- In same way complete all the Sev.
- Here Sev has been fried. Keep aside. You can also use redimade unsalted sev.
- Now, preheat a kadai to prepare the Burfi.
- Add Sugar in the kadai along with ½ Cup of Water.
- We have added ½ cup of water for 1 cup of sugar and will cook it until the sugar dissolves in the water.
- The sugar has now completely dissolved in water. Add Milk and ½ Cup of roasted Mawa in it.
- Add 1 pinch of Yellow Food Colour/Kesar and mix it well. Also, without adding any colour/kesar you can make this Sev Burfi.
- Cook the mixture until it boils.
- Then crush the Sev and add it in the boiling mixture of Milk and Mawa.
- Cook the mixture while stirring continuously on high flame until it has the desired consistency.
- Add more Milk if needed and cook it until it becomes thick again.
- Add 2 tbsp of ghee in it and Cardamom Powder, Pinch of Salt and mix them well with it.
- The mixture for Burfi has become thick.
- Set it aside to cool. Take a plate/tray and place ghee, butter paper on it.
- Spread some Ghee on it for smoothness. Add crumbled Mawa in the mixture after it has been cooled.
- The mixture is ready. We will now freeze it.
- Spread the mixture evenly on the tray/plate.
- Garnish with chhoped Dry Fruits and press them in.
- Leave the Burfi to set and then cut into small size.
- Cut the pieces of your desired size and separate them.
- Here Our SEV BURFI is ready...ЁЯШЛ
- NOTE : For best result use Homemade Sev.
How to Serve ?
- Remove the pieces and Serve the Sev Burfi in a plate...ЁЯШЛ
