History of Thandai..?
- Holi is a popular ancient Hindu festival, also known as the "festival of love", the "festival of colours", and the "festival of spring"... Also, Thandai is a refreshing summer drink popular in India and is always served during festivals of Holi and also Mahashivratri. It’s also known as Shardai.
- For Holi, bhang in little amount is added to make Thandai special, but here I don't add this because we used to give to kids so, its not good. Don't worry without bhang also it tastes awesome...Because Thandai ia full of nuts...😋so,try it once...😊
Ingredients :
- 1 liter Full Cream Milk
- 2 tsp Almonds
- 2 tsp Cashew Nuts
- 2 tsp Pista
- 2 tsp Melon Seeds
- 1 tsp Fennel seeds
- 8-9 Black Pepper Corns
- 1 tsp Poppy Seeds
- 3-4 Cardamom
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- Dried Rose Petals
- ½ tsp Nutmeg(Optional)
- 1 tsp Gulkand(Optional)
- 3 tsp Sugar

Procedure :
- For making Thandai Masala, Heat up Kadai and add Almonds, Cashew Nuts, Melon Seeds, Fennel Seeds, Black Pepper Corns, Pista, Poppy Seeds, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Dried Rose Petals, Nutmeg. Roast all the dry fruits for 3 mins and cool it completely.
- Now take a blender jar and blend it into Powder. Here our dry Thandai Masala is ready.
- You can also soak all the dry fruits and blend them.
- Now Heat up the Milk in a pan/kadai.
- When the Milk is hot enough, add Sugar, Prepared Thandai Masala, and Gulkand. Mix it well and cook for 2 mins.
- Here our Thandai is ready, turn off the gas and let it cool down completely.
- You can also make this Thandai in a mixer by adding Milk, Sugar, Thandai Masala and Ice Cubes.
- You can also keep this Thandai in refegirator and enjoy it.😋
How to Serve ?
- Serve the Thandai and garnish with prepared masala or dry fruits.
- You can store the Masala in air tight container for about 2-3 months.
