History and Benifits Fenugreek...?
- The use of Fenugreek dates back as far as six thousand years ago. Through discoveries, Archaeologists believe this spice was used as early as 4000 BC, when remains of this herb where discovered in Tell Halal, Iraq.Fenugreek was considered to be a medicinal drug and used by the Ancient Egyptians for this purpose.
- There are many name of Fengugreek that are : In India, it is known as Methi in Hindi, Oriya, Bengali, Punjabi and Urdu languages, as methya in Marathi, Vendayam or Venthayam in Tamil, etc...As,Methi is the best leafy vegetable which has lots of benefits like, Fenugreek leaves help in improving glucose and insulin responses, hence good for diabetics. The levels of cholesterol also reduced with intakes of fenugreek leaves. Rich in Vitamin K which is good for bone metabolism. It is really good for our health...
INGREDIENTS :
- 2 Cup Fenugreek Leaves
- 2 Cup Wheat Flour
- 3-4 Chopped Green Chillies
- 3-4 Chopped Garlic Cloves
- 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 4 tbsp Gram Flour
- 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
- 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 tbsp Asafoetida
- 1 tbsp Cumin Powder
- 1 tbsp Caraway Seeds (Ajwain)
- 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
- Fresh Coriander Leaves
- Salt as per taste
- Oil
Procedure Video...
METHOD :
- Fristly, Wash the Fenugreek Leaves and Chopped it Coarsly.
- Take 2 cup of Wheat Flour, Fenugreek Leaves/Methi, Fresh Coriander Leaves and Gram Flour into a large bowl/plate.
- Now add spices Red Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder, Coriander Powder, Asafoetida, Green Chilli crushed, Ginger Garlic Paste, Chopped Ginger, Crushed Caraway Seeds, Sesame Seeds and Salt to taste.
- Mix well,make sure that all the spices are well combined.
- Now knead the dough adding water gradually, you can add more wheat flour if required.
- Knead the dough until soft dough is formed. Further,add 2 tbsp oil and continue to knead the dough well. Give rest for 10 mins.
- Now Dough is ready to make Parathas/Dashmi. Take small ball sized dough and dust with wheat flour.
- Sprinkle some wheat flour and start to roll small disc. Further, roll it in thin like chapati or paratha.You can roll thick if you want.
- Now heat the tawa, place Methi Paratha/Dashmi and cook for a minute.
- When Dashmi is cooked partly , flip the dashmi and apply some oil/ghee.
- Flip the dashmi again one twice till both the sides are cooked well.
- Same for other theplas/dashmi/parathas.
- Finally, our Healthy,Tasty Fenugreek/Methi Thepla/Dashmi/Parathas are ready.ЁЯШЛ
- Note : Fenugreek/Methi paratha/thepla/dashmi recipe tastes great when prepared thinly. You can aslo add more Spices if required.ЁЯЩВ
