History of Plum Cake ...?

  • Plum cake has historically referred to an early type and style of fruitcake in England since around 1700. Raisins and currants were used, which in the English language were referred to as plums since around 1660.
  • The English variety of plum cake also exists on the European mainland, although "plum cake" there more usually refers to baked cakes made with fresh, rather than dried fruit, In India, plum cake has been served around the time of the Christmas holiday season, and may have additional ingredients such as rum or brandy added, Plum cake in the United States originated with the English settlers and was prepared in the English style in sizes ranging from small, such as for parties in celebration of Twelfth Night and Christmas, to large, such as for weddings and many more.

INGREDIENTS :

  • 2 Cups All Purpose Flour (Maida)
  • 1 Cup Powder Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Choco Powder
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 1 tsp Chocolate Essence (Optional)
  • ¼ cup Chopped Nuts
  • ¼ cup Raisins
  • ¼ cup Tutti fruiti
  • 1½ tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 cup Milk (room temp)
  • Pinch of Salt (Secret Ingredient)
  • Oil

METHOD :

  • In a mixing bowl, add All Purpose Flour , Coco Powder, Powdered Sugar, Pinch of Salt and Baking Powder. Filtrate all this mixture properly.
  • Now add Milk gradually and mix well.
  • Add all Nuts, Raisins, Tutti Fruiti, Chocolate Essence and Vanilla Essence. Mix it all toghether and add Oil to it. Mix it again very well and tap it.
  • Grease the mould with oil and dust some flour.(You can also use Butter Paper).
  • Preheat the Kadai for 5 mins.
  • Now Pour the batter into the mould and bake it for 35-40 mins (in oven bake it at 165 to 170 for 30-40 minutes).
  • Insert a knife to check if it comes out clean. If yes remove the cake and let it cool. If the knife is still wet then steam the cake for another 5-7mins or till it get's cooked completely.
  • Here Our CHRISTMAS PLUM CAKE is ready...ЁЯОВЁЯОДЁЯШЛ



How to Serve ?

  • Decorate the Cake by Dusting icing sugar over the cake. Let cool a bit. Cut and serve.ЁЯОВЁЯОДЁЯШЛ
  • For decoration you can use anythig or eat as it is...it's really very amazing.ЁЯШЛ
