Momos are a popular Street Food in Northern parts of India and everyone likes it. History Of Momos...?

  • Momos are a popular Street Food in Northern parts of India. These are also known as Dim Sum and are basically dumplings made from refiend flour with a savory stuffing. Momo is a type of East and South Asian steamed filled dumpling. Momo is native to Nepal, Southwest Tibet, Bhutan as well as Indian Himalayan Region of Ladakh, Sikkim, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh, and Darjeeling.
  • Momos are extremely popular and can be found in every kind of shop from restaurants to street vendors, The recipe is vegan.
  • Making Momos is very much intresting. We can give any shape and can use any filling. So, you also try it and enjoy it...

Ingredients of Recipe :




INGREDIENTS :

Momos Dough :

  • 1 Cup Refined Flour(Maida)
  • Salt to taste
  • oil
  • Water as required

Veg Filling :

  • 1 Cup Grated Cabbage
  • 1 Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 2-3 Green Chillies
  • 1 tbsp Garlic, Finely Chopped
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, Finely Chopped
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Soya Sauce
  • Corn Flour Slurry(Optional)
  • Salt to Taste
  • Oil

Procedure :

  • Fristly, Knead the dough using Refined Flour, Salt and Oil. Dough has to be semi soft. Keep aside to rest for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile to make filling, heat up the Oil in a pan.
  • Add Garlics and Ginger. Saute for a min.
  • Add Chopped Onions and mix well. Don't over cook it.
  • Add Chopped Green Chillies and saute it well.
  • Now add Garted Cabbage and mix well.
  • Add Corn Flour Slurry and mix well. This step is optional, but for the best binding it is must.
  • Add Soya Sauce and mix well. Turn off the gas.
  • Lastly, add Black Pepper and Salt. Mix well and let it cool completely.
  • Once the dough has finished resting, lightly flour a work surface, and roll out the dough like Chapati, then take any rounded shape lid or cutter and make all the puri. You can aslo take small size dough and roll it in a puri shape. But this methhod is very simple and time consuming.
  • Here our Filling is also cool, Now Stuff the filling into it, give the desired shape to momo and keep aside. You can give simple shape like Modak or any shape you like.
  • As, we are making Momos in Kadai so, heat up the water in Kadai, place the plate, apply some oil and keep all the Momos. Steam the momos for 10 minutes in the Kadai..
  • After 10 mins, Remove the Veg Momos and serve immediately with Momo chutney...😋

  • Serve the Veg Momos Hot with any Chutney you like...😋
