But it is not difficult to make at home. It is very simple. History Of Kofta...?
- Kofta actually is an Asian version of Meatball. It is said that the word Kofta comes from the term 'koftan' which means 'to pound' or 'to grind'. This basically means the ground Meat used for Meatballs.
- In India, koftas can be both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian. It is usually cooked in a Spicy Gravy and eaten with Rice or Roti.
- Also There are Dry variation of the Koftas which is considered as Kebabs.
- Surely Malai Kofta, Nargisi Kofta and Paneer Kofta are the well-known ones. But did you ever think of making Koftas in a Nutritious way...???
- So, You can try Soya-Kofta which is Healthy , Nutritious bcoz of Soyabeans and also Delicious like other Koftas..
Ingredients
For Soya Kofta
- 1 cup Soaked Soyabean / Soyachunk ( सोयाबीन )
- 1 Boiled Potato ( उबला आलू )
- 1 inch Ginger ( अदरक )
- 1 Green Chilli ( हरी मिर्च )
- ½ tbsp Cumin Seeds ( जीरा )
- 2-3 Garlic Cloves ( लहसुन )
- Chopped Coriander Leaves ( हरा धनिया )
- 4-5 tbsp Roasted Gram Flour ( बेसन )
- ½ tsp Coriander Powder ( धनिया पाउडर )
- ½ tsp Red Chilli Powder ( लाल मिर्च पाउडर )
- ½ tsp Cumin Powder ( जीरा पाउडर )
- 1 ½ tsp Turmeric ( हल्दी पाउडर )
- Salt as per taste ( नमक )
- Oil For Frying ( तेल )
Ingredients
For Gravy
- 2-3 Cloves ( लौंग )
- 3-4 black Pepper( काली मिर्च )
- 1 Black Cardamom ( बड़ी इलायची )
- 1 Green Cardamom ( छोटी इलायची )
- Cinnamon ( दालचीनी )
- 2 Bay leaves ( तेजपत्ता )
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds ( जीरा )
- 2 Green Chillis, Karnful ( हरी मिर्च और कर्णफूल )
- Javitri, 3-4 Garlic cloves ( जावित्री और लहसुन )
- 1 inch Ginger ( अदरक )
- 2 Chopped Onions ( प्याज )
- 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder ( कश्मीरी लाल मिर्च पाउडर )
- ½ tsp Turmeric ( हल्दी पाउडर )
- 1 tbsp Coriander Powder ( धनिया पाउडर )
- 1tbsp Red Chilli Powder ( लाल मिर्च पाउडर )
- 2-3 tbsp Garam Masala / Mix Masala ( मिक्स मसाला )
- Salt as per taste ( नमक )
Step 1
- Take 1 cup of coarsely ground Soyabean / Soya Chunks, add 1/2 cup of water in it and keep it aside for 10 minutes to expand.
Step 2
- After 10 minutes,Take Grinder add Soaked Soyabeans,1 Boiled grated Potatoes in them along with 1 inch Ginger Ginger,4-5 Garlic,3 Finely Chopped Green Chillies,Chopped Coriander Leaves,½ tbsp Cumin Seeds and Salt as per taste. Grind it well.Make a thin paste.
Step 3
- Now Take Bowl,Add this Soya Paste in it along with 4-5 tbsp Roasted Gram Flour/Chickpea Flour,½ tsp Coriander Powder,½ tsp Red Chilli Powder,½ tsp Cumin Powder,½ tsp Turmeric and Salt as per taste.Mix All The Ingredients Properly and the Dough form.
Step 4
- The Dough of Koftas is ready,Preheat Oil in a Kadai/Wok,take a Dough Lump and Bind it into a Round balls.
Step 5
- Add the Kofta Balls/Cutlets to fry and fry until they are Golden Brown all the sides.
Step 6
- Soya Koftas appear golden brown from all the sides so we will drain them out.Stop a ladle at the corner of the wok so that extra oil moves back in it.We fried and prepared all the Koftas and it takes 6 to 7 minutes for frying single round balls of Koftas/Cutlets.
Step 7
- Preheat 2 to 3 tbsp of Oil in the Pan/Kadai,Add 2-3 Cloves,3-4 Black Pepper,1 Black Cardamom,1 Green Cardamom,1 Cinnamon,2 Bay Leaves,1 tsp Cumin Seeds,2 Green Chillies,Karnful,Javitri, 3-4 Garlic cloves,1 inch Ginger,2 chopped Onions and roast on the low flame.After this let it cool then make its fine paste.
Step 8
- Now take Kadai,Add Oil in it.Add Masala Paste saute it for 5 mins.Now add 1 tsp Kashmiri red Chilli powder,½ tsp Turmeric powder,1 tbsp Coriander powder,1tbsp red Chilli Powder,2-3 tbsp Garam Masala,Salt as per taste and Saute this all for 5 mins on medium falme.
Step 9
- Now Add some amount of water,Some finely chopped Green Coriander leaves and let it cook the gravy until it boils.
Step 10
- Now Gravy is Cooked but We won't add Soya Koftas Directly in the Gravy Because These Koftas are delicate.
Step 11
- Now Arrange Our Soya Koftas / Cutlets in a Plate / Bowl and Pour the Gravy over them. Add some Finely chopped Green Coriander leaves , Lemon , Onions to Garnish the Gravy. You can serve this Kofta Curry with Tandoori Roti/Chappati...But The awsome Taste will get from Tandoori Roti Only..
Step 12
